New Berlin Landmark Reaches 100 Meters

01-06-2024

Berlin's skyline has gained a striking new feature: the Estrel Tower Berlin, which surpassed the 100-meter mark on May 15. Upon completion, it is set to become Berlin's tallest building and Germany's tallest hotel at 176 meters.

The tower has been designed with a strong emphasis on sustainability. It features green roofs, bicycle parking, and an advanced CO2-reducing energy concept connected to the district heating network. These eco-friendly elements aim to earn the building a LEED® Platinum certification.

With the completion of its 28th floor, the Estrel Tower aims to symbolize both architectural and ecological innovation, reflecting Berlin's dynamic growth and innovative spirit. The project is slated for completion by the end of 2025.

Each large-scale construction project presents significant challenges, but the collaborative effort has led to remarkable progress.

Since the 1990s, the Estrel complex in Berlin-Neukölln has been expanding. Initially the largest hotel in Germany, it added a show theater in 1997 and became an international convention venue with the opening of the Estrel Convention Center in 1999. Further expansions included the Convention Hall II in 2015 and a modern auditorium in 2021.
